What is Cassandra Rull?
Cassandra Rull is a small women-owned business that hand sews swimwear and clothing for children and women, as well as fun home accessories such as surf board pillows. People know me for the bright fun color and prints I choose, combined with functional and fun wearable pieces. Everything I’ve designed are things that I would live in on a daily basis.What inspired you to start your small business?
I was inspired to sew when I was 19 years old (I’m 38 years old now). At the time there weren’t very many places where I could find things I wanted to wear, so I decided to cut and sew my own clothes from old clothes I didn’t use anymore. From there I started posting what I made on MySpace, and friends offered to pay for the things I made, and that’s when I decided to pursue fashion in college. From there, I never stopped sewing and still do to this day!What are your favorite Spoonflower fabrics for your products?
My top two fabrics are Cotton Spandex Jersey and Sport Lycra. They're both soft and stretchy and hold on very well over time. Lots of my customers are active in the ocean surfing and swimming, as well as on the beach and they can all testify that these fabrics hold up great after long use.Why Spoonflower?
I discovered Spoonflower about 5 years ago, and loved the variety of prints and the fabric options.
