Sport Lycra® is a durable knit fabric with an 88% polyester and 12% Lycra® construction. Medium-weight and nearly opaque with 4-way stretch, Sport Lycra® features vibrant color and UPF protection that stands up to swimming pools and saltwater alike, making it the perfect choice for custom swimwear. A moisture-wicking finish paired with good stretch recovery also makes Sport Lycra® an ideal choice for athletic apparel, including dance costumes, leotards, leggings and headbands.

Sport Lycra® Fabric FAQs
Wash separately in cool water using a gentle machine cycle. Machine dry using a low temperature or permanent press setting and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles.
Designs print with crisp detail and vibrant color. Smooth fabrics show fine details clearly, while textured fabrics create a more natural printed look.
Some Spoonflower fabrics may include a small amount of extra width for the selvedge (the finished edge of the fabric). This area helps prevent fraying during printing and shipping. The listed fabric width refers to the usable printed area, and any selvedge is included as additional width.
