A Bold and Fresh Powder Room Update
Follow the Find worked with Spoonflower to give a powder room a makeover, using Spoonflower Non-Pasted wallpaper and Cotton Poplin fabric to create a DIY sink skirt and lampshades to match.

Our little powder bath was in desperate need of some color and personality. It’s the main
bathroom for guests in our home, and it’s been neglected to say the least! We wanted to tackle
this project quickly with the momentum from the new year, and two snowy southern weekends
that were perfect for crafting.
For our fabric and wallpaper, we worked with Spoonflower to make our selections. We narrowed
it down to three schemes, and you voted for your favorite, which happened to be our favorite
too! Great minds think alike! You can find our favorites from their website here. I encourage you to shop their selections, searching by color, style, and even artists. There are so many hidden gems! Their “shop similar” feature on the page is also super helpful as it highlights similar style or color to your current selection.
We ordered samples, which arrived quickly, which confirmed our suspicion… The brown and
blue scheme was still my favorite!
We went with the traditional, non-pasted version of this stunning star wallpaper. It’s also
available in peel and stick and pre-pasted, but we wanted the traditional installation for a
bathroom space. The brown felt classic yet on trend. Paired with the blue it was the fun pop of
color that this powder bath needed!
For fabric, we selected a blue and cream floral to coordinate with the star paper. For this fabric, the cotton poplin was the choice since it needed some weight. We used it to make a no- sew sink skirt and pleated sconce shades. I loved the fabric even more when I received the sample - the background has an adorable cream squiggle pattern throughout which adds a funky touch to the traditional floral pattern.
Other details in the space:

Thank you to Spoonflower for sponsoring this post. We’ve always loved their selection and were
thrilled to partner with them for our powder bath transformation.
