Sport Lycra is a medium-weight, durable knit fabric with 4-way stretch, a 50+ UPF rating and moisture-wicking finish. This 88% polyester and 12% Lycra fabric is an excellent choice for creating swimwear in addition to athletic apparel from leotards to leggings.
All Spoonflower fabrics can be machine washed and tumbled tried on a low setting. We suggest washing with like colors on a cool cycle. Natural fiber fabrics can be pressed using a warm iron, while polyester fabrics can be pressed using a cool iron. We recommend using a pressing cloth for all fabric types.
Because Spoonflower fabrics are digitally printed, and ink is deposited on the surface of the fabric, full-coverage and more saturated designs may feel more stiff than others due to the amount of ink required. Once washed, all of our natural fiber fabrics will soften considerably and return to the look and feel you’re used to!
